Review: Vroom Kaboom (PlayStation 4)

VROOM KABOOM is a brand-new type of gameplay experience. A ‘Tower Rush with Vehicles’, this game combines elements from collectible card games, tower defense & multiplayer online battles. Engage in 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3 battles.
Pros:
- Ok graphics.
- 9.47GB Download size.
- 12 Trophies.
- Gameplay is a cross between Twisted metal meets a card battler.
- Customize avatar and decks.
- How the game plays out is you have a hand of cards with a resource cost and a car on it. Earn resources and play cards to launch the cars onto the track. Destroy the enemies base to win.
- Scraps- Earned from loot boxes in the game and spend on new cards.
- Resources are on the track, There are 2 types one flame and one oil. Oil is for playing normal cards and fire is for playing much more powerful cards.
- Laned battlefield- Press left and right to change lanes and you auto accelerate.
- PSVR support which acts a lot like an additional camera view.
- You have offensive (cars, trucks, tanks etc) and defensive (roadblocks, pumps etc)cards.
- Recycle unwanted cards in the game to gain a portion of their resource cost back as an incentive.
- You can play multiple cards at one.
- You don’t have to manage every car you launch, They just go and have some basic AI decision making.
- Airborne action with missiles and a vehicle like a Moth which is a buggy on a balloon where you can shoot down with a machine gun. It really mixes it up.
- Hot-swap between cars.
- Collect random cards in the game.
- Every car has its own unique ability like ram, shoot or jump along with each car getting a nitro button.
- Earn victory points (EXP) and level up to earn a loot box. You can go down as well as up.
- Campaign- Earn stars for performance against the AI in set scenarios. Over a dozen levels for each of the three factions.
- Three factions each with unique cards, models, and custom options.
- Training mode.
- A quick match which like an arcade mode.
- Custom game- Create or search, Can make private rooms and add any AI bots and has an invite system.

Cons:
- No tutorials or explanations.
- Steep learning curve.
- Cards/decks not explained.
- PS3 looking graphics.
- Sometimes you blow up for no reason.
- Bland campaign.
- Cold basic menus.
- Can get stuck in scenery.
- Possible to hit your own team and get stuck on them.
- A lot of loading screens.
- Loose handling.
- No frills track design.
- No level selection for online play.
